Warranty

Warranty — DreamStar Bedding.

Every DreamStar sleep set is built by hand in our Canadian factory and backed by a limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Here's exactly what that covers — and how to make a claim if you ever need to.

A limited warranty that scales with your set

Your protection begins the day you buy your sleep set — established by the date on your receipt — and runs for the pro-rated period set for your model. If we repair or replace your mattress or box spring under warranty, coverage continues from that original purchase date rather than restarting.

The exact warranty length for your model is shown on its product page and printed on your warranty card. If your product is no longer manufactured, DreamStar determines a comparable retail value at its discretion and may substitute materials of equal or greater value.

What's covered — and what isn't

The warranty covers genuine defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. It is not a comfort guarantee — that's what the 120-night trial is for.

Covered under normal use

  • Coils or wires that come loose, break, or protrude through the fabric.
  • Body impressions of 2 inches or more, when the mattress has been properly supported.
  • A physical flaw in the materials that makes the mattress split or crack despite normal use.
  • Manufacturing defects in the cover's zipper assembly.
  • Box spring faults: splits in the wood frame, persistent noises, loose or broken beams or centre rail, collapsed modules, or sagging.

Not covered

  • The cover fabric itself — stains, soiling, or burns.
  • Border wires bent by moving, folding, or bending the set.
  • Body impressions of less than 2 inches (normal break-in).
  • Mattress height, sheet fit, or personal comfort preference.
  • Damage from an unsupportive frame or an inappropriate box spring.
  • Used bedding, floor models, or anything sold “as-is.”
  • Damage from abuse, or that occurs in transportation or delivery.

Keeping your warranty valid

Your mattress must be continuously and properly supported throughout the warranty period. It's designed to be used on an appropriate DreamStar box spring (or equivalent foundation) set on a sturdy frame. Queen and King sets require a rigid centre support that runs from the frame to the floor, with at least 5 legs or 6 hardwood cross-slats. Using an inadequate base voids the warranty.

Your warranty is negated if we find:

  • An unhygienic mattress — visibly stained, soiled, or burned.
  • Liquid damage.
  • Damage from chemicals.
  • Damage or defects from improper use or care.
  • Damage from abuse.
  • Improper or insufficient support.
  • No proof of purchase.

A body impression is normal — it means the comfort layers are conforming to your body. To keep impressions even and prevent premature sagging, rotate your mattress every 30–90 days.

How to file a warranty claim

If you think you have a covered defect, here's what we'll need to process it. Have these ready and reach out to our support team.

  1. Confirm you're covered. You must be the original purchaser and have bought your set from an authorized DreamStar dealer, with proof of purchase showing the place, date, and product.
  2. Photograph the law tag. Send a photo of the law-tag label sewn to the mattress so we can verify it's a genuine DreamStar product. Don't remove this tag — it establishes your warranty rights.
  3. Document the issue. Describe the problem in detail and send clear photos of the defect. These determine whether it's a covered manufacturing issue.
  4. We assess & resolve. If the claim is valid, DreamStar will repair or replace the product within a reasonable time, at our discretion.

Please note: transportation costs are the responsibility of the customer and are NOT covered under warranty. We recommend keeping — and scanning — your original receipt in case the ink fades.

Do's & don'ts of bedding care

Do

  • Let your new set air out after unpacking, and recycle the plastic.
  • Allow a rolled mattress 48–72 hours to reach full size (longer in cold rooms).
  • Carry the mattress flat on its side — it's easier to handle and harder to damage.
  • Keep it clean; a waterproof mattress pad helps.
  • Replace an old box spring when you buy a new mattress.
  • Use a proper frame and centre support on Queen and King sets.
  • Keep your receipt and rotate the mattress every 30–90 days.

Don't

  • Smoke in bed.
  • Let anyone stand or jump on the mattress.
  • Let the mattress get wet — some materials compress.
  • Place a board between the mattress and box spring.
  • Bend the mattress more than 25°; flex it through doorways instead.
  • Use dry-cleaning fluid of any kind.
  • Remove the law-tag label from the end of the mattress.
